no idea what's happening with the staples, I think the original staples are still connected possibly but only connected further inside the comic, there 2 extra staple on the very top and bottom which you can see on the spine, that are most likely added staples only the bottom one is connected to the cover. And the centrefold is detached.
Complete with no cutouts.
